Customs FOU Zone B Makes 109 Seizures Worth Over N275m

The NIgeria Customs Service  Federal Operations Unit  FOU Zone B has within the last one month, made a total of 109 seizures worth over N275 million.

This was disclosed by the Comptroller  FOU Zone B, Al-Bashir Hamisu, when briefing journalists at the Routine monthly press briefing at the Zonal command's headquarters in Kaduna on Thursday January 27, 2022

According to him, items seized included 856 50kg bags of smuggled foreign parboiled rice.

According to him, out of the number,  316 were seized from Katsina, Sokoto and Kwara.

"Motivated by the Operational vehicles given to us by our Comptroller General, from December 22, 2021  to  January 27, 2022, we have made 
109 seizures worth N275,989,659.70," he said.



According to him, other items seized include 474 kegs PMS, 
250 parcels of Cannabis Sativa (Indian Hemp), 16 units of  used vehicles, 19 bales of  foreign Second hand clothing and 41 bales of foreign new textile materials.

The Comptroller listed six impounded vehicles which were means on conveying smuggled products, 44 bags of foreign rice, neatly concealed in bags of rice paddy, 825 cartons of foreign spaghetti and macaroni, 123 cartons of foreign tea and 82 cartons of foreign Ginny Milky Creamier.

Also showcased were 72 pieces of foreign used tyres,  60 pieces of  foreign jack knives, 20 cartons of cigarettes,  12 kegs of foreign vegetable oil, 10 cartons of foreign tinned tomato paste, four bags of foreign parboiled rice (25kg) and 45 litres  of foreign motor engine oil.
